THE WAR | PBS

This is one of the most fascinating documentaries about WWII. It looks at the war through various personal accounts of Americans in four different towns. Seven 2-hr episodes in all, but it’s worth it. I watched them all online, contemplating to buy the DVD now. I hope there’ll be a series like this for Singaporeans to relate to though.

There are some preview clips on the site as well. One scene that struck me was the landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day. It was so amazing to see actual footage, IN COLOR. I wondered how these films actually survived the war, then I thought, maybe God wanted us to see it, and we should.
